Mon 23 Dec – Middlesbrough Town Hall.
The Southmartins bring their high energy, feelgood, hit-packed Caravan of Love back to the Boro for Christmas 2024!
This one is fast becoming a festive tradition, and it has sold out every time we’ve done it – so don’t wait too long to bag your tickets!
The clue’s in the name of course. This is an inspired mash-up of two of the 80s/90s’ most iconic, all-round joyous (and lyrically mischievous) pop acts – the Beautiful South and the Housemartins.
The band have developed into something unique in the world of tribute bands. There’s a genuine feeling of the songs being alive with no attempt at pure imitation and a healthy irreverence that allows them at times to make the songs their own whilst remaining true to the spirit of the these two much-loved bands.
Sing your heart out to Beautiful South anthems including Perfect 10, You Keep it all In, Rotterdam, and the ‘I love you from the bottom of my pencil case’ Song for Whoever. And then you can do that trademark dance to Housemartins hits such as Happy Hour, Me and the Farmer, and of course Caravan of Love.
Are you ready? Sure you are!
There *may be giant red balloons, indoor snow, cheeky projections and the return of that belting brass section, which takes the band up to an incredibly full sounding 10-piece.
This is a beast of a party that will having you grinning and humming those anthemic tunes til Boxing Day and beyond. Christmas most definitely starts here!
Support comes from enigmatic duo the Pet Shop Men. We’ll let you guess who they might just be a tribute to, but if you want a clue then we can tell you they will be doing a set of wall-to-wall bangers including West End Girls, It’s a Sin, Always on my Mind, Go West, Rent, Domino Dancing and Being Boring…
